Dimitry N Tugarinov graduated from Moscow State Surikov Institute of Fine Art in 1979. Since 1975 he has regularly taken part in local and international exhibitions. He is a Moscow Komsomoi Prize nominee. He got the first prize in the Prague International Competition in 1985. In 1996 the title of Significant Artist of the Russian Federation was conferred on him, and he was given the Gold Medal by the Academy of Arts
